How To Use a Coin Locker

There are many coin lockers (paid-lockers) around major train stations in Tokyo. They come in different sizes and prices, typically there are three sizes.

Small – 35cm x 43cm x 57cm (13in x 16in x 22in)
Medium – 57cm x 43cm x 57cm (22in x 16in x 22in)
Large – 117cm x 43cm x 57cm (44in x 16in x 22in)

Prices are from 300 yen to 600 yen. Some of the coin lockers can be used 24 hours, some can only train running time. You can pay by coins or IC cards such as Suica and Pasmo. If you use over 24 hours, they usually charge extra money when you pick up your luggage.

Shibuya Area

Shibuya has many coin lockers and a luggage storage counter at Shibuya “Chikamichi”. If you carry big luggage which doesn’t fit into the coin-locker, please visit these places. They accept bigger luggage.
